There will be NO herding training at Erskine Park this weekend 3rd & 4th March due to many areas being water logged. Sheep can not be drafted and the drafting equipment has to be moved on Sunday to another area due to the area bring water logged.

As a result of heavy rainfall in Goulburn the State Emergency Service is directing people and businesses along the low lying areas adjacent to the Wollondilly and Mulwaree Rivers in Goulburn City to evacuate. If possible, people should go and stay with family or friends, or make other accommodation arrangements.

Dogs NSW have been advised by Show Secretary Di Richmond the good news that the Milton Show Society Championship show will go ahead this Saturday 3rd March 2012, at the Showground, Croobyar Rd, Milton although naturally the conditions will be tested.

Parking will not be available in the usual area and exhibitors will need to unload and then move their vehicles to a designated area. Your co-operation in this regard will be essential.

Braidwood and Tarago Dog Shows Cancelled

Dogs ACT have had discussions with EPIC this morning and due to the unprecedented rain and more forecast over the next 48 hours they deemed the grounds closed for events. The showground is occurring flooding in some areas and advice from EPIC is that the car parks would not endure the traffic. Another point of concern is the damage to the grounds if occurred would have to covered by clubs holding the fixtures.

I have been advised by the Dog Section Organiser of the Boorowa Show Society show scheduled for this Friday that the dog section has had to be cancelled due to the flooded condition of the grounds and surrounding areas. Anyone who is potentially able to convey this decision to a wider audience is invited to share this information.

All dogs that qualify for the Grand Champion title under revised Rule 7.9(a) are eligible to apply for the title after the implementation date of 1 January 2012. 

This decision was based on the basis that of the 224 titles available in Australia to only 3 are for Conformation, including Neuters. Hopefully this change will encourage exhibitors to continue showing after gaining their Championship.

  It has been brought to our attention that imported dogs are being entered and exhibited at  

  shows in NSW, PRIOR to being re-registered, which, in most identified cases, is in breach of

  the following Dogs NSW Regulations:

After a meeting of the Dorrigo and District Kennel club committee today and discussions with Dogs NSW we have decided due to current weather conditions and forecast conditions over the next 4 days to postpone Dorrigo and District Kennel Club All Breeds show to a date to be determined after further discussions.
